A new discovery

Thanks to my wonderful friends, Greg and Carla, I have discovered FACEBOOK.COM. There are so many people on there that I know! It's almost as good as msn...only I can find people I would never think of. My social life is turning into technology. Not sure I like it, but I sure like keeping in touch with everyone.

I Stooped So Low

Yes, today I donned an Idol number and sang for a producer in Calgary. I didn't get past the first round! I don't know why I did it. I have no aspirations in performance and I don't really need more affirmation that I can sing. But I definitely know I am not a performer...or at least not a very good one. You cannot rely on a pretty voice alone. You have to have character...and mine is, well, guarded.

But today was an adventure! A random act of nothingness that I will never do again. And so I shall return to my day job tomorrow of...singing...and teaching singing...and leading people to worship God thru singing. Yup, a bit more rewarding I think.

The idols of the nations are silver and gold, made by the hands of men. They have mouths, but cannot speak, eyes, but they cannot see; they have ears, but cannot hear, nor is there breath on their mouths. Those who make them will be like them, and so will all who trust in them." Psalm 135:15-18

Sow a thought, reap an action
Sow an action, reap habit
Sow a habit, reap a character
Sow a character, reap a destiny.

The Lovely Couple

Fail to Succeed

Success and failure. We think of them as opposites, but they're really not. They're companions - the hero and the sidekick.

~ Laurence Shames

A life lesson that I have been learning and this is the best I have heard it said. I hate failure. So my reaction is not to do anything so I won't fail. Ah yes, the servant with 1 talent who buried it in the ground...there are many times I have lived like that. But I think I'm starting to see that failures are what teach us to succeed. The sidekick has a purpose after all. He keeps the hero REAL.

The beginnings of...?

Well, it's my turn to start one of these things. Sometimes I have deep thoughts that perhaps could get out into the open, but not today. Maybe tomorrow.

The sun is shining
The snow just fell
And I have to go back to work
Instead of skiing on the hill.
